What to do if i break my Fish Tv?

Breaking your Fish TV is not the end of the world if you are able to act within the first few minutes and the fishes are still alive. Please practise safety while trying to put your Fish TV back together again. Here’s what you can do.

Step 1: Safely remove all the big chunks of glass.

As you slowly remove the big glass chunks, watch out for the smaller pieces as well. Place the glass pieces in a plastic bag and throw it away.

Step 2: Save the fishes

Prepare any small container that you can find. Preferably without any soap, chemicals or food/oil stains. It would be good if you’re able to salvage any of the old water, it’s fine if you are unable to, you can use tap water. Slowly get the fishes into the new container. They should be a bit stunned. They have been through a lot, but they should be fine.

Step 3: Rebuilding your Fish TV

If you have a giant glass jar or a vase lying around, you can use that. If not, you can use a pail for laundry for the time being. Just make sure to rinse any soap residue that may still be in the pail. I will try to slowly get as much aquarium soil back in, but please take note of any small pieces of glass. You want to NOT get any glass in at all. Use a spoon if you’re unsure. If you’re not confident at all. Just sweep everything up and throw it away. You may accidentally cut yourself in the future while washing the tank if it has glass in it anyway.

Once you have collected the soil, you can place the plants in as well. Once again, make sure NO GLASS. Once done add in normal tap water. If you new tank is about the same size as the old one, you can add the same amount of water conditioner, 2 drop per liter of water. Our Fish TVs are 3L so you add 6 drops if it’s the same size. Do not worry about adding too much. Just estimate the amount and add in the water conditioner. Stir the water a bit when done.

Finally, you can reintroduce your fishes into the new Fish TV. They should be swimming freely if everything is okay. This should take a few hours. And that is what you can do if you break your Fish TV.
